Question: What does your score on the Big Five tell you?

Based on your answers, your results will show you where you fall on a spectrum for each trait. For example, you might score high in conscientiousness and low in extraversion. You can take the Big Five inventory for yourself here. When looking at your results, remember that personality is incredibly complex.

What can the Big Five predict?

Personal outcomes predicted by personality include subjective well-being (predicted by extraversion and neuroticism), spirituality (predicted by conscientiousness, openness, and agreeableness), and health (predicted by conscientiousness, neuroticism, and agreeableness).

Do traits predict future Behaviour?

Traits predict general patterns of behavior over time better than single instances of behavior. But we now know that personality traits are better at predicting long-term behavior patterns.

Does past Behaviour predict future Behaviour?

Psychological scientists who study human behavior agree that past behavior is a useful marker for future behavior. High-frequency, habitual behaviors are more predictive than infrequent behaviors. Predictions work best over short time intervals.

Do personality traits predict Behaviour?

Although the behaviours are very different, they nevertheless all fit with the meaning of the underlying trait. Psychologists also found that, because people do behave differently in different situations, personality will only predict behaviour when the behaviours are aggregated or averaged across different situations.
